This is the only high-rise jail facility in operation in Travis County and is located downtown, adjacent to the County Courthouse and connected to the new Criminal Justice Center. This five-story facility was constructed as a maximum-security jail. This facility houses those who have demonstrated a need for a more secure environment, including those who are mentally unstable or whose medical needs require constant vigilance.
